Headless, fragmentarily preserved woman’s statue. The standing figure’s weight is carried by her right leg while her left leg is bent. She is draped in a peplos that opens on the right side and is held around her waist with a thin belt. The quality in execution indicates that this is an original whereas the frontal representation, the way that the body is structured and the rendering of the garment folds resemble other works of the early Classical period.

The figure’s identity remains unknown as both the head and the arms that most possibly bore some insignia are broken. The woman could have been either a mortal or a goddess, perhaps Athena. Most possibly this was a private dedication that may have stood on a column out-of-doors as the erosion on the front and the shoulders show.
